David Archuleta is a hands-on kind of guy in this new shot from his recent trip to India.
The 20-year-old “My Kind of Perfect” singer recently traveled overseas to India in support of Rising Star Outreach, where he learned first hand what the organization does and stands for.
Rising Star Outreach’s mission is to help the Leprosy colonies become thriving, self-sufficient communities. In India there are over 700 “leprosy colonies.”

David Archuleta: Decisions, Decisions...

It was just announced last week that David Archuleta and Jive Records had parted ways.
Now, the 20-year-old musician is looping his fans into what’s going on.
David explains in his latest video blog, “I know a lot of you have been worried about it; hearing that I’m no longer with my record label, Jive and I’m no longer with my management as well. I’ve kind of been talking about this in my tweets about decision making and I’m just trying to think of ‘Who is David supposed to be? What direction is he going as an artist?’ Right now, I’m just writing. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately and focusing on that.”

David Archuleta & Jive Part Ways

David Archuleta and Jive Records have parted ways, GossipCop confirms.
The 20-year-old musician, who was American Idol’s runner up back in Season 7 (2008), has been dropped by the label after his latest album, The Other Side of Down, failed to deliver the numbers.
David tweeted, “Decisions.. They are scary things before knowing what could happen after you make them, but I’m excited for what the future holds.”
So sad, but don’t worry, we’ll still be blogging about David!

David Archuleta has been dropped by Jive Records after his latest album flopped.

“The Other Side of Down” sold only 63,000 units, leading the company to cut the singer from its roster.

Archuleta was the “American Idol” Season 7 runner-up to David Cook.

In the wake of his “Idol” success, Archuleta’s 2008 self-titled debut went platinum.

The 20-year-old musician has teamed up with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to support the organization’s annual IHOP National Pancake Day fundraiser.
Hoping to raise $2.3 million for kids in need throughout the United States, David will be one of the celebs giving wake up calls to encourage fans to go get some free flapjacks on Tuesday, March 1 at IHOP.
On National Pancake Day (March 1), IHOP will give guests one free short stack of its signature buttermilk pancakes from 7AM to 10PM at their restaurants. In return, IHOP asks that guests make a voluntary donation to support local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.
