The 20-year-old singer recently chatted with MC on the orange carpet at the 2011 Kids Choice Awards over the weekend. Pixie shared with us about her upcoming album, “I’ve basically been trying to make it more soulful. It will still have some upbeat, pop songs on it, but it’s definitely more a soulful sound. After working six weeks in Los Angeles on the record, Pixie is headed back home to England today. Hopefully next year, we’ll get to see Pixie rocking out the KCA stage!
Add one more reason we’re excited to hear Selena Gomez and The Scene’s third album — because they worked with Pixie Lott! Selena, 18, tells MTV, “There is one [song] that I’m completely in love with, and it was written by Pixie Lott, who I am obsessed with, and it’s my mom’s favorite song. It’s very sweet. It’s kind of a ballad, but not really. It’s basically about living in the moment; it’s about enjoying right now. I’m very much enjoying right now. I’m in a good place.”
What about other songs? “The third record is really fun, and there’s a song called ‘Hit the Lights’ that I love, and it’s basically about every missed opportunity that you’ve had. “I spent Christmas with my family on a ski trip to Soll in Austria. I has so much fun and new years eve was such a giggle! Here are a couple of photos from the trip one with my sister Charlie-Ann when we went sledging and one of me all ready for the slopes!” Pixie added about her upcoming second album, “January was also important as it was the start of me writing and recording for my 2nd album…I’m so excited about this. The album is coming along great and in fact I’m actually in LA right now writing. I’m here until the beginning of April.”

The 18-year-old actor talked about bulking up for the part of Will Wagner, loving London weather and his gal pal Pixie Lott. Check it: On beefing up for the role of Will: “It was a lot of chicken, and a lot of protein, definitely not doughnuts. I lurrve all that food, doughnuts, Krispy Kreme’s especially, Millie’s cookies. But you know to bulk up I went to the gym a couple of months in advance.” On what he misses most about living in England: “My family are in the room so I have to say my family. But between me and you, Arsenal. I get up at 3, 4 o’clock in the morning to watch the games. I miss all my friends, the areas I used to hang out, just everything about it, the culture and the history of the city. The food, the people. In a way I miss the weather. It’s grey and miserable but it feels like I’m back. I don’t get that downbeat about the weather, I just appreciate it.” On his friendship with Pixie: “She’s a real family friend. Hopefully she carries on and comes over to America and does her thing. We’re very very close. We’re family friends, I met Pixie at a swimming pool in LA and we had so many mutual friends. I’m not sure how we never met before. So we started speaking and hanging out, then we continued the friendship back in the UK. Every time she comes to America we hang out and vice verse when I come back.”

Pixie is actually back in the studio, working on new tracks for another, future album. “Great fun working in the studio with Phil Thornalley & Mads Haugethis week…now its the weekend woohoo xoxo,” she shared. Pixie most recently modeled a Vivenne Westwood tee for the 2011 Red Nose Day.
