James Franco and Anne Hathaway’s opening monologue from the 2011 Oscars featured some advice from two very special audience members – Hathaway’s mom and Franco’s grandma.
James Franco is getting ready to co-host the Academy Awards for the first time, and he’s been hard at work on a special version of Cher’s “You Haven’t Seen The Last of Me” (from Burlesque) for Sunday’s telecast.
Sadly, it didn’t make the cut.
Franco just tweeted his moving rendition of “Oscar Song,” along with faux outrage: “they pulled this from the oscar show. damn it.”
Rough audio of his would-be masterpiece is below.
We’ll have to wait until Sunday night to see whether he and co-host Anne Hathaway test their musical chops for a worldwide audience.
